Founder and Executive Chairman
Irene founded Everest and served as the company’s CEO for more than twenty years until February 2025. In her current role as Founder and Executive Chairman, Irene continues to provide strategic advisory, and operational planning and support for Everest’s long-term business strategy.
Irene’s over three decades of experience in pharmaceutical new drug development, clinical research and Contract Research Organization (CRO) business development and management have been key to Everest’s long-term success. Irene has worked for North American-based pharmaceutical companies Johnson & Johnson, the Upjohn Company, Pharmacia Corporation, and the Pfizer Corporation. She was previously the Head of Statistical and Data Management Center for Global Medical Affairs at Pharmacia. She founded Everest following Pfizer’s acquisition of Pharmacia Corporation. Her visionary leadership and strong operational oversight have enabled Everest to become a key partner for its customers with its culture of flexibility and unwavering focus on delivering the highest standards of quality in the industry.
Irene demonstrates data- and results-driven leadership, holds high professional and ethical standards, and has a strong commitment to quality and excellence. She has broad business knowledge and perspective, and excellent technical skills and functional knowledge for biometrics and full-service clinical trial execution. She is highly experienced in business development and management, operational performance management, benchmarking, and delivering profitable growth. Irene is also well-versed in managing change and business transformation.
Irene received her M.Sc. degree in Mathematics and Statistics from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada.
