Dr. Castro brings over 20 years of distinguished experience in oncology research and clinical development, having excelled in leadership roles within both major pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. His expertise spans medical monitoring, integrated safety data review, and strategic advisory for Medical and Regulatory Affairs.
Previously, Dr. Castro served as President of CMATRIX Consulting Group, where he was instrumental in crafting clinical development strategies and offering medical advisory and monitoring support to biotechnology firms. His extensive industry experience includes pivotal roles as Executive Director, Senior Director, Medical Director, and Senior Global Clinical Lead at renowned pharmaceutical companies such as BeiGene Ltd., Bristol Myers Squibb, Novartis AG, and GlaxoSmithKline Biologicals.
Dr. Castro's academic credentials are equally impressive. He completed NIH-awarded postdoctoral fellowships in Clinical Immunology and Research Oncology/Hematology at the Georgetown University Medical Center/Lombardi Cancer Center. He also completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Dr. Jaime Oliver Pino Hospital and earned his Medical Degree from the Universidad Central del Este in San Pedro de Macorís, Dominican Republic. His foundational training includes a Bachelor of Science in Biology from George Mason University.
